City X Ray performs Pre-natal Screening assays on Immulite 2000 XPI with Asian MOM’S to provide accurate screening of Down Syndrome, Trisomy 13, Trisomy 18, & Neural Tube Defects.

COBAS e 411 (ROCHE)

Cobas e 411 analyzer 2nd generation platform of ECL technology

Bench top analyzer for heterogeneous immunoassays.

Cobas e 411 offers rapid STAT and turnaround time, an on-board capacity of 18 test and throughput of up to 88 tests per hour.

Benefits

  • Barcode-based data entry is carried out automatically by loading reagents, controls and calibrators onto the system – a rapid robust and safe procedure.
  • STAT facilities for urgent samples.

Cobas e 411 disk system features two STAT sample positions that can be accessed at any time. Delivering results readily in response to clinicians requests.

Innovative technology

Novel Electrochemiluminesence (ECL) technology provides superior analytical performance. Increased sensitivity means that extremely low levels of antigen, as well as subtle changes in levels, can be detected. The very wide measuring range facilitates cost and time efficient testing by reducing the need to dilute and repeat samples.

Fetal Medicine Foundation approved Double Marker testing.

Access 2 CLIA system (Beckman coulter)

  • A lab forward design

The Access 2 designed to have the robustness of a reference-lab immunoassay analyzer in the convenient size of a bench top instrument giving greater control over quality reliability and speed without sacrificing valuable floor space.

The access 2 delivers an extensive immunoassay diagnostic – testing menu.

Inhibin is a trademark of Beckman. So quadruple marker (with inhibin), is provided with complete automation.

AMH (Anti Mullerian Hormone) is reported daily on Beckman CLIA platform.

Blood gas analyzer (ROCHE)

  • Blood gas analysis is considered the most important diagnostic tool for critically ill patients,
  • our analysers deliver rapid and reliable results.

Protein electrophoresis, Sebia (Trivitron)

  • Sebia agarose gel electrophoresis: a well-established and robust protein separation technology.

Electrolyte estimation on fully automated cobas integra 400 plus

  • Flexible system for consolidating routine workload with a capacity of 36 tests (including 4 ISE : Na+, K+, Li+, Cl-) on board and throughput up to 400 test per hour.

HB A1C:

Performed by LPLC method on D10 (from Biorad).

The same is also available by immunoturbidimetric method on biochemistry analyser.

Stone analysis using FTIR spectroscopy (Agilent Cary 630)

The Agilent Cary 630 FTIR spectrometer is versatile, innovative, and intuitive, providing superior quantitative and qualitative information for routine analysis of solids, liquids, and gases. With a wide range of sample interfaces and high performing optics, – including Agilent’s unique and revolutionary DialPath for measuring liquids – the compact Agilent Cary 630 FTIR will give you accurate results — fast. Weighing only 3.6 kg (8 lbs) and standing 15 cm (6 in) tall the Cary 630 has permanently aligned optics to simplify uptime, has snap and go modules to increase testing, and has easy-to-use technology that reduces training.

  • All automated systems are bi-directionally interfaced, results checked and approved by consultants.
  • 100% backup of all instruments and parameters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Biochemical analysis. A basic metabolic panel measures sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), magnesium, creatinine, glucose, and sometimes calcium. Tests that focus on cholesterol levels can determine LDL and HDL cholesterol levels, as well as triglyceride levels.
Special biochemical tests
  • Zinc (urine or semen)
  • Lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes (LDH-ISO)
  • Alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes (ISO-ALP)
  • Creatine phosphatase isoenzymes (ISO-CPK)
  • Sweat conductivity test (to diagnose cystic fibrosis - CF)
  • Copper (blood and urine)
Clinical Biochemistry is the division of laboratory medicine that deals with the measurement of chemicals (both natural and unnatural) in blood, urine and other body fluids. These test results are useful for detecting health problems, determining prognosis and guiding the therapy of a patient.
Measurement of blood glucose (sugar) and lipids (fats) are among the commonly performed tests in the biochemistry laboratory. Panels of tests can be used to assess the function of major body organs such as the liver, kidneys and heart. Specialized assays are used to measure the levels of various hormones in the blood.
Assessment of Urine Biochemistry
Urine biochemistry can provide important ancillary diagnostic information. This chapter summarizes the common uses of urine biochemistry in the intensive care unit (ICU) and how they may aid in the diagnosis, investigation, and monitoring in a variety of conditions.
Biochemistry is the branch of science that explores the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. ... Biochemistry focuses on processes happening at a molecular level. It focuses on what's happening inside our cells, studying components like proteins, lipids and organelles.
Lab tests are usually performed on small samples of blood or urine. One of our staff will take a blood sample from your arm or ask you to collect a sample of your urine. Fasting is sometimes required so you may be asked not to eat or drink anything for several hours before your lab test.
The laboratory performs a wide variety of different biochemical tests in whole blood, serum/ plasma and other bio fluids by the use of a wide range of equipment, from the simple most basic to automated, modern and sophisticated systems. Lab results are controlled by internal and external quality control programs.
Biochemistry makes significant contributions to the fields of cell biology, physiology, immunology, microbiology, pharmacology, and toxicology, as well as the fields of inflammation, cell injury, and cancer. These close relationships emphasize that life, as we know it, depends on biochemical reactions and processes.
Certain popular immunological tests include - Agglutination tests, Complement fixation, Enzyme immunoassays, Precipitation tests, Western blot test.
Immunology is the study of the immune system and is a very important branch of the medical and biological sciences. The immune system protects us from infection through various lines of defence. If the immune system is not functioning as it should, it can result in disease, such as autoimmunity, allergy and cancer.
Samples are taken at 1 hour, 3 hours and 24 hours following the reaction.
Immunologic blood test, any of a group of diagnostic analyses of blood that employ antigens (foreign proteins) and antibodies (immunoglobulin) to detect abnormalities of the immune system. Immunity to disease depends on the body's ability to produce antibodies when challenged by antigens.
Since most of your immune 'security guards' live in your blood and bone marrow, a blood test is the primary way to check if your immune system is deficient. A Complete Blood Count (CBC) Lab Draw evaluates your numbers of white blood cells and antibodies to determine if your levels are cause for concern.
People should contact an allergist/immunologist if they have an allergic reaction or experience frequent, recurring infections. Rheumatologists can help diagnose and treat people who have autoimmune diseases or chronic muscle or joint pain.
