24 Hr Urine Protein is required.
1. On day 1, urinate in the toilet when you get up in the morning.
2. Afterwards, collect all urine in the container provided for the next 24 hours.
3. On day 2, urinate in the container when you get up in the morning.
4. Cap the container. Keep it in the refrigerator or a cool place during the collection period.
5. Label the container with your name, the date, and the time of completion, and return it as instructed.
Note: Several medicines can change the test results. You may be required to stop taking any medicines that may interfere with the test results.
It identifies a wide range of medical conditions including renal damage, urinary tract infections, diabetes, hypertension and drug toxicity. It is often done to see how much creatinine clears through the kidneys. It’s also done to measure protein, hormones, minerals, and other chemical compounds.
