Overview

What Is a CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA or CCTA) Test and its Purpose?

CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) is a non-invasive test that uses a CT scan and contrast dye to take detailed pictures of the heart's blood vessels (coronary arteries).

It is used to check if the arteries that supply blood to the heart are narrowed or blocked, commonly done when someone has chest pain or is at risk for heart disease.
