DIRECT COOMBS TEST

Direct Coombs test detects IgG and Complement bound to erythrocytes. The test is useful in diagnosing patients with Hemolytic disease of the newborn and Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. Drug induced antibodies may give false positive reactions.
